Come join our Distance Running squad! Simply train with us and/or choose to compete as well.

Do you want to improve your fitness, increase your speed and perform better in Athletics and/or your other sports? Well sorry there is NO magic pill or easy way to do this... you must train hard and work consistently at it.

The good news is that our Club offers you the opportunity to do this in a coached environment and with a squad of other runners. Athletes vary in age and ability, so don’t worry, you will not be left behind. The ages range from 7 years upwards.

If you're more of a Social runner, who simply want to meet up and train with like-minded community folk on the North Shore, Bays can offer you this option too. Winter Cross Country Running is fun, tough and muddy... are you up for it.!?

One key part of our Running / Distance Programme is the winter Cross Country Grand Prix Series, which is organised by Athletics Auckland. During the winter months, the five GP Races occur every few weeks and provide you the opportunity to run over a range of surfaces, including fast grass and slow mud!

After a season of Cross Country your speed and fitness will improve and you will be ready for Summer Athletics and Road Running events that you're wanting to take part in.

Bays Athletics X-Squad:

All year round programme to teach fundamental skills for all track and field events, primarily for ages 11-14.

Jonathan Wood’s Distance Running Group

  • Mondays and Fridays 5:30pm to 6:30pm for all 7 - 14 years
  • Sundays - group runs at various locations around the North Auckland area (parents welcome); e​​​​​mail will be sent out in the week before the run with information.
