Masters Track & Field
At North Harbour Bays Athletics Club our Track & Field Masters athletes cover running, jumping and throwing at all levels of competition. Track & field season runs from October to March.
Our group/s are very friendly, welcoming and social, and we warmly welcome new members to join us. Masters athletes compete in 5 year age-divisions age for Male & Female 30 + Running events (60m to 10,000m; Long,Triple & High Jump; Shot, Hammer, Discus, Javelin, Weight. To complete in World Masters Athletics championships age starts at 35 M/W.
Numerous masters competition are held annually, including National and Auckland Championships.
To take part in Athletics Auckland meetings the athlete has to belong to a recognised Athletics club.
NOTE: AMA is not a registered as a club and are not able to take part in AAI meetings, but can take part in New Zealand Masters Athletics North / South Island and National Championships.

An excellent start to 2025 for the club masters with new club/AMA and NZMA national records set.

NHB Masters T&F January to November 2024
PPMG Brisbane 8th - 10th November
Nine NHB masters took part in the 2024 meeting held at Queensland Athletics Center and were greeted to Brisbane witha heatwave of 35c for each of the 3 days, just a bit warmer than when they left Auckland. The 9 athletes won between them 13 Golds; 5 Silver and 9 Bronze medals.

Oceania Masters T&F Championships 1st-8th June 2024 Suva Fiji.
Five NHB masters took part and enjoyed good hot condititions and top class competition in both track and field events and ended up with 10 Gold- 4 silver and 3 bronze medals between them.
David Anstiss M75 had a very busy week winning Golds in the Decathlon [10 events] David won the Wortld Masters Championship in 2016] and followed by winning the High Jump; Long Jump; Triple Jump; Pole Vault; 300mH and set Championships records in all the events and Silver in the 60m. M55 Gavin Hall taking part in first Decathlon came away the Gold. M60 Mark Lett won Golds in the Pole Vault; Long Jump and Pentathlon. Delwyn Smith W60 won Gold in the Pole Vault and Silver Hammer Throw. Karen Hulena W60 won Silver in the 800m and High Jump and bronze in the 400m; Long Jump and Pentathlon.
