Due to diffent gradiants in road races and some timing issues all road events records will now be classed as "BEST TIME" but will still be shown on the club records list.

NHB's masters have age group records M/W 30+for road races [see club masters records]

Should you wish to make a claim for a road race age group record durning 2024, please send full details of the Event name; Date held; actual finish time;  also a sceen shot of your results and send to  anne_tony@xtra.co.nz    NO later than one month after the meeting race date.

New Zealand Masters Distance Running events take place over Road Races, Cross Country and Mountain / Trail

Numerous Road races are held throughout the year, both locally and nationally, where Bays Masters athletes can compete for age-division honors.

Cross country meets are held in the autumn and winter, and many meeting include a team scoring component that provides a platform for camaraderie and teamwork.

 Athletics Auckland have announced the 2024 winter X/C and road programme for up to date information check their website.

World Masters Athletics Cross Country Championships 2023

For the first time in history, Masters athletes will be able to stake their claim for glory alongside the world's best cross country athletes at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships at WXC Bathurst, Australia taking place on Sunday 19th Febuary. NHB/NZ masters athlete Christine Adamson [MW65-69] will be taking part in her first cross country race at the Mt Panoroma course and is looking forward to the challenge. Christine is the current 10k road race World Champion.

Congratulations to Christine Adamson who claimed the Bronze medal at the WMA X/C Championships on Sunday. Also ex-NHB athlete Wim Luijpers M50-54 claimed the Silver medal.
